The invaders of St Leonard’s Churchyard in the Dales

Went on Sunday up to the Yorkshire Dales for the day, due to the bad weather we have had this was my first trip up there this year.

My intentions were to visit the church of   St. Leonard, Chapel-le-Dale near Ribblehead and where lays the graves of the navvies and their families that built the Ribblehead viaduct way back 1874.

But I got distracted by two others I met in the churchyard who were not supposed to be there but it is true the grass is greener on the other side for these !  The primroses and the celandine were lovely too !

Mum was evidently not bringing up this youngster well either – getting into bad ways whilst still very young !

in my next post I will feature the Church.
