The local by the Lay-by

It was one of those days when your driving  and everything seems happy but then a momentous moment  when the sun is shining directly into your windscreen, the sort of thing you have waited for days for (or in our case in the UK months)  and then wish it wasnt really happening at all.  It is only then you realise smears on the inside of the windscreen that are so annoying and are really distracting.

There is only one answer to it – look and pull in at the next lay-by – in my case it was up in the wilds of deepest Cumbria just outside Kirkby Stephen.  But it soon became clear I was not the only person who enjoyed this lay-by each day – a local evidently had the much practiced art, the look of sympathy and yes I was yet another person who fell for it too!

In my car i found  some  polo mints which i shared  and my local became my instant new best friend.
